THE COURTS—TO-DAY.
MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
(Before E. H. Carew, Esq., S.M.)
Henry Harraway v. Andrew Moran and Co. (of Wellington).—Claim, £7 14s 6J, for flour and oatmeal supplied.—Mr Sim appeared for plaintiff, for whom judgment was given for amount claimed, with costs (26s 64).
Joseph Sparrow v. Corrigan and Co.— Claim, £3 6’, for work done in connection with the fitting up of defendants’ electric lighting apparatus for use during the Jubilee celebrations. Defendants counter-claimed for £SO damages, on the grounds that the workman sent by agreement by plaintiff to fix and set going the electric plant neglected to do this, and in consequence thereof defendants were unable to properly fulfil the contracts winch they had entered into for the supply of electric light, and sustained pecuniary loss thereby and otherwise. The Hon. John MacGregor appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Sim for defendants.—This case was partly heard on Friday, and this morning the case for the defence was concluded, after which Ilia Worship reserved judgment.
