PALMERSTON NORTH, August 16. Mr Freeman, juu.,injured bya cycling accij6a eekin a roa d race between here and Ashurst, died from the injuries received by the fall.
n «. , August 16. On the last voyage of the Waimate James Robertson, a coal trimmer, jumped overboard and was drowned, a few days before reaching London. He was only twenty-thaee years of age. He joined the steamer at Lyttelton. No cause is known for "the deed.
The little boy. Peter Laverty, the only son of Mrs Laverty, of the Gladstone Hotel, who met with an accident at Hyde on the 7th inst., died on Saturday morning from the effects of the injuries he received. The deceased fell out of a cab,"the wheel of which grazed and partly crushed the back of his head.
