WELLINGTON, August 16. The 'Labor Journal' reports that in Christchurch, owing to the extraordinarily fine weather, trade is very slack, as winter goods are in dull demand and most of the btock still on hand. The building, boot, and clothing trades are specially affected. In Dunedin, owing to the same cause, the boot trade is very alack. The engineering trades, however, are everywhere extremely busy.
