WELLINGTON, August 16. Among the passengers by the Tongariro was Sergeant-major Burbery, of the Royal Artillery, who will be stationed at Lyttelton as an instructor for the permanent force. A large number of lighthouse-keepers are being transferred from one Btation to another.
HAWERA, August 16. A slight shock of earthquake was felt here at 7.30 and at 10.30 on Saturday evening, and another rather violent and prolonged shock at 4.30 yesterday morning.
