Oxford University will confer the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Premiers Reid (N.S.W.), Kingston (South Australia), and Nelson (Queensland). Ata meotinginconnectioqlwiththeßritish Empire Trade League,.held at Ediuburgh, several of the colonial Premiers were present. -The Australian and New Zealand students at Edinburgh University assembled on the platform, and the New Zealand section greeted Mr Seddon with the Maori war cry. At the-Edinburgh Trade League meet-: ing Lord Balfour of Burleigh, Secretary for Scotland, declared that England and her colonies were one people. Premier Laurier, of Canadftj said -he foresaw <jhe time when sbe bond between England and the colonies must either be clos&i up or brdfeen. Sir & Turner asserted that the colonics would be found to be united at one 'word— <( danger." Sir Edward Braddon (Premier of mania) is making inquiries with a view to extending the Tfaamanan timber tradoin England. v MrG. H. Reid (Premier of New South Wales) is at Rome. .He visits Florence, Milan, Lucerne, add Brussels, and is expected to reach London on Friday.
