He was a passenger from Cape Town to England, and when the~steamer was at Funchal, Madeira, he threw himself overboard. His body was recovered, but life was extinct. London on May 26 by a despatch from Cape Town stating that Barney Barnato was suffering from nervous prostration, and that his friends had found it necessary to place bim under restraint. A subsequent despatch stated that Barnato was suffering. from Cape fever, but that his condition was not serious."
