A fierce tribal fight took place at Geraldton between the Molayata Islanders and Santo boys employed on the sugar plantations, After fighting with their fists the Molayatas armed themselves with spears and tomahawks and drove the others into the river. Two were drowned, and a dozen severely wounded.
