YOUTHFUL DUNEDIN HORSESTEALERS.
RUN TO EARTH AT TIMARU. TIMARU, Jdne 14. ' The police have Becured two young menJohn Findlay and William Soobie—from Dunedin who have committed a series of thefts of horses. They left Dunedin last month for Christchunh on foot. At Palmerston they stole two horses and an outfit from a stable, . and rode them to Waimate, where they turned the horses adrift. They then walked to Pareora, entered a house, and took a watch and chain and food, and went to Totara Valley, where they atole two horses, saddles, ana bridles, and rode to Geraldine, where they impounded one horse and took 12s for "driving" fees. They left Oeraldine with two fresh horses—draughts—which they sold the next day to a farmer at Kangitata, and afterwards ransacked his house. They returned to Geraldine, and sold a third horse and saddlery. Findlay was captured in Timaru as he was preparing to leave by the steamer, and- Scobie near Winchester, where he tried to sell some more stolen saddlery. .;
