The amount of revenue collected at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption to-day was £316 os.4d. The directors, in submitting their thirteenth annual report and balance-sheet, state that the profit Sod loss account shows a net profit for the year of £1,475 17s 2d. which, added to £2.518 lis lid brought forward from previous year, gives an available balance of £3,994j951d. Out of this an interim dividend at -the rate of 12J per cent, per annum was paid "for the half-year ended 31st October, 1896, which absorbed £607 17s 4d; and the directors recommend the payment of a divident at the same rate for the half-year now closed, and carrying forward the balance, £2,978 14s sd, to next year. A SATISFACTORY BALANCE. The Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association had a credit balance on the year's operations of £2,138, whioh is to be appropriated as follows:—A dividend at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum on the paid-up capital, a rebate of the charge received for dumping wool shipped on account of shareholders of 2d per bale, a bonus of 2J per cent on all purchases of goods by shareholders, and a bonus of 50 per cent, on all commissions earned on business contributed by shareholders.
