We have decided to initiate a SHILLING SUBSCRIPTION in aid of Children's Ward Fund, and will take charge of all donations (limited to that sum), whether in cash, postal notes, or stamps. Additional shilling subscriptions in aid of the children's ward:—J.R.S., G.A.S., E.R., J.W., M., Scoullar and Chisholm's employe's (31s), a family of nine (9a). The Caledonian Sooiety have granted the free use of their grounds for the display of fireworks by the Chinese on the night of the 26th inst. The Protestant Alliance (Friendly Sooiety) and Orange Institution deoided last night to join in the procession as one body. The Canterbury Trades and Labor Council deoline to take part in the record reign procession on June 22, and have requested the Demonstration Committee to see that employes are not compelled, against their personal wishes, to work at their trades in the prooession. Additional subscriptions to the children's Wtirdfund: A. S. Paterson and Co., £2O; T.SW. Kempthorne, £lO 10s; N.Z. Drug Company, £lO 10s; Rev. O. S. Bowden, £sss; W. A. Moore, £5 ss; T. R. Fisher, £5 ss. Messrs John Swan and Co. send us a sample of the medal which they are making for the Kensington and other sohools. The design and dies from which the medals are struck are all made on the premises, Bath street, and the workmanship is exceedingly creditable. Any child desiring one of these Jubilee commemoration medals will be supplied at the nominal charge of 31.
