. STRANGE DISTURBANCE. SYDNEY, June 11. Earthquake shocks are reported from one of the ISew Hebrides group at the end 'of April, followed on May 12 by two load reports resembling the discharge of heavy guns, while large volumes of blaok muddy water and stones were thrown up at intervals of a few minutes from the sea to a height of from 10ft to 30ft, accompanied by sheets of white vapor. The scene of disturbance, which was still in aotive operation on May 29, is in the vioinity of Tevella Island, towards the western extremity of Laska. The sea is dta colored for miles.
