FIVE DAYS AND NIGHTS ON A RAFT.

SYDNEY, February 19.
During the cruise of the German warship Falke, which arrived yesterday, she came across three miners, who had a narrow escape from a band of New Guinea Natives. When running the gauntlet they learned that two whites—Laylar and Fry—had been speared and eaten by the Natives. The miners dropped down the river on a raft, and had to keep at bay yelling mobs of savages.. The raft was carried to sea, and for five days and nights the men drifted about helplessly before they succeeded in reaching New Britain.
