Post Office Notice.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (subject to any necessary alterations), as under:— For Northern Ports, overland, daily, at 10.30 a.m., C.P.O. Late letters, mail van, North train, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30. For Southland, Australian Colonies (via Hobart). India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, Mediterranean ports. Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc.—Per Tekapo. at 1.20 p.m. Money orders, registered letters, books, and newspapers at 12.20 p.m. Late letters, C.P.0.. at 1.30 p.m. Parcel tost mails for the Australian colonies will close at 4 p.m. on the 29th. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. Wednesday. October 30. For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich Islands, United States of America. Canada, South America, West Indies. United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a.m. Money orders at 9.15 a.m., hook packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 30th. Registered correspondence at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th. • Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage (2Jd) as a late fee, can be posted in the mail van attached to the North express, leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the 30th. The above mail will close at the Branch Post Offices. North Dunedin and South Dunedin, for money orders and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 29th, letters at 9.30 a.m., and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 13th. At the Port Chalmers Office at 8.45 a.m. on the 30th ; money orders at 4 p m and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 29th.

Mails for Puyseeur Point and Cromarty close at Invercargill on Thursday, 24th insfc, at 3 p.m. Mails for .Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, per Taynmi, dose at Auckland on Friday, 2nth mst., at 4 p.m. Mails close at Sydney for Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga on the 26th inst. . , Mails for Raratonga and Tahiti, per Richmond, close at Auckland at 1 p.m. on the 30th.
