Mr Paalin advised at 1.30 p.m. to-day “Strong to squally N. andN.W. toS.W. winds and heavy rain showers. Indications stormy and electrical.”

Further heavy rain last night removed the fears of a disastrously bad season for grass and grain. The ground had a good soaking. INVERCARGILL, October 23. The weather has been very unsettled for the last two weeks.
