At a meeting of .the Unemployed Reli. f Committee yesterday the-chairman (Mr Chishojm) reported on the works executed during the past week. There were now only forty weight men engaged, and they would be considerably reduced in a few days (mostly employed on the Duke street improvements and: the extension of Rattray street through the Roslyn train cutting). It was decided to call the attention of the City Council to the cutting down i>f the whole of the gorse and broom on the reserves, and to suggest that hereafter the grass should be let on the understanding that it be closely cut all oyer the Belt at least twice a year.
