T*ie following letter, whioh is a. reply to the complaint of the Otago Rugby Union against the action of the New Zealand Union, was received by the former by the last mail:—

Rugby Football Union, < 3 Danes Inn, Strand, W.C., November 9,1891. Dear Sir,—l am instructed by my Committee to forward you copy of letter sent to me by the Otago Union. They desire that you will send me your views on the same. Their attention is called to the fact that your Union has given rulings on points of law. Whilst not objecting to your taking such a course in cases where it is necessary in order to save time to give a decision at once, they feel that such rulings should be sent to them for their approval and settlement. lam sending a copy of this letter to the Otago Union, —I am, etc., G.
