The amount of revenue collected at the Customs house on goods cleared to-day for consumption was £784 7s"2d. Mr John Turnbull has retired from the directorate of the Southland Frozen Meat Company. MINING NOTES. Mr Thomas Callender reports 7oz 14dwt gold from the Matakitaki Gold Dredging Company, Limited, for fifty-seven hours’ dredging. The secretary of the Sandhills Gold Mining Company, Limited, reports having received a telegram from the manager that dredging was started on Wednesday, but owing to the breaking of a wheel on Thursday work had to be stopped.
