RELIGIOUS STREET BANDS.

TO THE EDITOR. Silt, —In walking along the Cargill road with my two little children last Sunday evening about a ruarter-past six I met a hand with torches playing a sort of music, with a mob of boys alongside of them, who rushed past us and knocked one of my little girls down. The boys were using most foul and disgusting language. The people said it was the Wesleyan Chapel Band. Now, sir, it is time the police interfered, or the Borough Council took steps to frame by-laws to protect ordinary pedestrians from such unseemly scenes when quietly walking on the footpaths on the Sabbath evening.— I am, etc., Tuavelleh.

South Dunedin, May 7.
