(Per Press Association.] LONDON, May 5. (Received May 7,1894, at 10.45 a.m.) At the wool sales competition is fair and prices show no alteration. Buyers arc hopeful that the duty on the import of wool into the United States will soon be removed. Tho total quantity catalogued up to date is 60,400 bales, of which 56,300 bales have been sold. Dalgety and Co., Limited, have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated London, May 4: —“ Prices for frozen meat show a marked decline. The market is unfavorably affected by heavy receipts. New Zealand cross-bred mutton is selling at 3J-d to 4}d per lb; New South Wales merino mutton, 2£d to 2Jd. Wheat: Market demoralised.”
