THE POLITICAL LIBEL CASE.
WELLINGTON, Jink 8.
An application by Mr Rees for a commission to take evidence in England was refused this morning, and the former order, permitting the taking of evidence by a commission, varied so as to confine it to Wellington. The "trial was fixed for the original date (June Hi). Mr Rees expects that it will last three weeks, unless shortened by admissions of fact, in which case the numljer of witnesses may be considerably shortened.
