Towards tho end of February a tragedy occurred on Creswell Downs Station, near the Queensland border, in South_ Australian territory. The station blacks, in company with a tribe of wild blacks, attacked the stations hands, and two white men named Clarke and Deloyete were murdered, A strong feeling was aroused in tho vicinity, and the available police stationed in the district of Anthony Lagoon, in company with a number of neighboring settlers, started in pursuit. Recently tho Queensland police were communicated with in consequence of the difficulty of obtaining information direct by the South Australian authorities, and a telegram received by the Commissioner of Police states that the avenging party came into collision with the blacks, several of whom were shot dead, and that a strong party of settlers is still pursuing the aboriginals.
