THE ALHAMBRA’S SECOND FIFTEEN.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l notice in the annual report of the Alhambra it is stated that the Second Fifteen had difficulty in arranging matches last season. As an example of the difficulty the following will servo:—The I'aoific Football Club tried to arrange a match with them. They did so, but when the time came on it was called off, on account of the Alhambra wanting to give their First Fifteen practice—as if they needed it after having three months of it. The second time the Pacific tried to arrange the match the Alhambra secretary said they were willing to play, provided they got all the gate money, knowing that naturally the Pacific, let alone any club, would not accede to such terms. I may also mention that the return match with the Caveraham did not eventuate; why, I don’t know, nor probably the Caversham either. Trusting you will insert this, so that the difficulty (?) may not crop up again this season, —I am, etc.. Footballer. Dunedin, March 14
