The Rev. William Cole, nicknamed the Cardinal, was remarkable for a "oomfortableassurance." Pining at a party at the' University, he took'up from the table a gold snuff box belonging to a gentleman seated next to him, ana? bluntly remarked on its size, saying: "It is big enough to hold the freedom of the Ooporatlon. *• Yes, Mr Cole," replied the owner, "it would bold any freedom but yours."
