ALLEGED PIRACY. BRISBANE, January 12. (Received January 12,1892, at noon.) A telegram announces that Captain Car* penter, of the barque Costa Rioa, was arrested at Teruate, in the Malay Archipelago, by the Dutch authorities, for alleged piracy in stripping a wrecked junk, After some difficulty the British Consul at Batavia Bscured his release.
A FIND OF SAPPHIRES. ' BRISBANE, January 12. Three fine sapphires have been discovered near Rookhampton. One of them is the finest found in ' Australia. It weighs 126 carats, and is valued at L3OO. ' '
