CRICKET.
The interprovincial match with Canterbury will be played on the Carisbrook ground on Friday and Saturday next. The Match Committee have not yet made their selection, but the following names suggest themselves as a suitable team to do duty for the district: —Bell, Lawton, Baker, Fisher, MacNeil, Harper, Downes, M'Farlane, Parker, Croxford, Johnson. EmergenciesDrabble, Williams, Beck. The match between Lord Sheffield's team, who played twelve men, and eighteen of East Melbourne was drawn. The visitors made 201 in their first innings. The local team knocked up 177 in their first innings, and had two wickets down in their second innings for 35 at the call of time.
