Obituaries: The Earl of Liofefbild (atat 67); and John Cashel Hoey, of Dromalane, husband of the well-known authoress. Both deaths resulted from influenza. The mortality from the epidemic la Paris, Athens, Calais, Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Kansas, and Memphis is very severe. Thirty thousand oases are reported in St. Louis (U.S.), 10,000 In Chicago, and 60,000 in Copenhagen. In the latter instance the extreme suddenness of the attack is very marked. The influenza is spreading in the North of England, when the mortality has doubled. In Northern Italy, owing to Its ravages, the industrial productive works are at a complete standstill. At Loohnaber, a burgh of Scotland, eight miles E.N.E. of Dumfries, the death-rate from influenza is 51 in the 1,000.
