ENGLAND DEFEATED.
The match between Lord Sheffield's team and the Australians was ooncluded yesterday, the Australians winning by 54 runs. The second innings of the Englishmen closed for 15S—Abel making 23 and Attewell 24. M'Leod secured one wicket for 39 runs, Turner five for 51, Trott three for 52, and Callaway one for 7. TRIAL MATCH. The following are the teams for Saturday's trial match, to be played on the Carisbrook Ground: — No. 1 Team.—Baker, Bell, B»st, Crawfurd, Croxford, A. D»wnes>, Drabble (captain), Hope, Johnson, M'Crorie, Parker. No. 2 Team.- Beck. Clayton, Currie. Fisher. Collar, Lawton, M'Farlane, M'Neil (oaptaiu), Munro, Rattray, William'. Emergencies-T Downes and Kinvisr. Harper being out of town has not been selected for this match.
