Marcarl sailed from there at sev.n this morning for Port Chalmers, The sshooner Spray, with oargo from Napier, arrived at Dunedin at 7a m. yesterday. She left Napier on the 3rd inst.; h»d N. W. winds, and cleared Gook Strait on the 6th inst.; then met southerly winds, and put into O'Kane Bay on the following day; left again on the 9 hj inst., and had N E. winds to arrival. Tho Ritorua left Duuedin this afternoon fur Northern ports. 1 he Hauroto steamed up from Port Chalmers this forenoon and took In cargo at the tongue whaif.

The ship Taranaki has put out about 700 tons of cargo at tho cross wharf, The barque Thurso is discharging guano at the Rattray street whaif. The ship Auckland has landed about 500 tons of cargo at the Victoria wharf. The Invercargill, with cargo from the South, arrived at Dunedin early yesterday morning. The Napier, with cargo from Waifcawa, arrived at the wharf at 11 a.m. yesterday. She left again this evening for Biverton.

Ogilvie) is a Montrealcr and a senator of the Dominion—and this company is determined to carry out the idea. They have acquired a strip along the shore of about six miles in length by three miles in width, and are now at work building a railway to connect the new city with the termini of tho Intercolonial and Canadian Pacific Railways at Port Mulgrave, which is only six mi'es away. The Canadian and Nova S jotlan Governments have eaoh granted a subtidy of 32,000d0l per mile for the railway, and the latter Government have also granted eight square miles of coal land in Cape Breton, just across the strait.
