At Tattersall's meeting on Saturday the Spring Handicap, one mile and a half, was won by Rover (7 4), with Lancer (7.6) second, and Bustler (7.4) third. The Victorian aboriginal cricketer, John Mullagh, was found dead on the 14th of last month at Harrow (Western district). When the team of blacks visited England in IS6S, Mullagh was the mainstay both in batting and bowling. Daring tho tour he scored 1,679 runs, and came out with an average of 22. His highest score was 94 against Reading, who were beaten by an innings and 218 runs. In the first innings of Reading, Mullagh took eight wickets at a trifling cost. Against Surrey he made 33 out of 83 and 73 out of 132, and against Marylebone he scored 75 and 12, In Maroh, 1879, he played for Victoria against Lord Harris's team, and in the second innings scored 36. On the deceased's coffin was placed the bat he used and a set of stumps, tied with the Harrow colors and surrounded by numerous wreaths.
