FIRE.

A woolshed, the property of William PetersoD, fellmonger, of Roslyo, and its contents—ten bales of wool and one of hair —the property of Messrs Arthur M'Donald and Co., were destroyed by fire at Wakari on Wednesday night. The shed was valued at LSO. and the wool, etc., at Ll2O. The fire was discovered by a neighbor named David M'Dougal, who states that the flames appeared to originate in the spot where a quantity of lime was stored. Mr Peterson was at the fellmongery on Wednesday night, and everything was then safe. The shed was insured for L7O in the North British Office, and the wool, etc., for Ll2O in the Guardian Office.

A stack of wheat, valued at L 25, the property of William Charles, of Lauder, was burnt last Tuesday. It was not insured.
