The Junta legalise the notes issued by President Balmaceda, but confiscate the bank accounts of the Loyalists in order to meet such notes. The insurgent army is being disbanded, and the censorship established ovor telegrapbio messages is being removed. The whole country is tranquil. Mr Patrick Egan, United States Minister to Chili, who has been accused of siding with the Balmaoedists, expresses anxiety for Congress to inquire into his action, and deuieß the charge of partisanship.
