Messrs John M'Malrn and Go., Glasgow, writing in July, state that they are selling New Zealand cheese at 52* to 64s per owt, as against 43i and 41s for New Canadian and United States. They say:—“ This must prove to you and friends in the colony in the trade that New Zealand cheese has established itself in tbe Scotch markets, and taken a very prominent position here. It seems to ns a feather in our cap to make a penny per pound more for cheese that comes 15,000 than for cheese that comes 3 000 miles. New Zealand cheese is really now being preferred to Home cheese, because It Is ripe, thows good meat, and is well flavored.” [By Telegraph.] Chhstchuoh, September 3 —The ordinary half-yearly meeting of the Christchurch Tramway Company was held last evening.
