THE REWARDS OF VALOR

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —In your issue of tbe Ist inst. appears n list of perions who have received awards from the Royal Humane Society. I was surprised at the omission of one who was generally thought entitled to a certificate of merit. I allude to an ex-member of tbe Dunedin Fire Brigade, Mr Henry Wilson, who, on the 6th of December, 1890, at Port Chalmers, rescued a boy named O'Connell from drowning. I hope the publication of this will have the effect of his valor getting him its due reward, Better late than never. —I am, etc., Colonial. Dunedin, September 3.
