MEETING OF CREDITORS.
RE DAVID M'LKOD
A special meeting of oreditors in the estate of David M'Leod, of Dunedin, grocer, was held this afternoon. Tnere were fourteen creditors present.
The Official Assignee stated that he had called the meeting to consider tenders, which at last meeting it was agreed to call for. Two tenders had been received, and he would now open them. (Tenders opened,) One tender was from Messrs T. K. Harly and Co. for L 690, and the other from Messrs Lorie and Co. for L6OO.
Mr G. Esther moved that Mr Harty'e offer be accepted, Mr Denniston seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. The Assignee said they had not yet proceeded with the examination of the books. The stock-sheet of the Ist of April had not been discovered so far, which was to be regretted, especially as there were some things about the stock that were peculiar. For instance, there were 251b of candle* missing.
In answer to a question, the Assignee said that the question of Mr Haynes's rent was to come before the judge tomorrow. The meeting was adjourned sine die.
