PRESENTATION.

Yesterday being the annual celebration in honor of tho Rev. Mother Prioress of the Dominican Canvenr, she was presented with a number of gifts by sisters of the convent and the children attending the different Roman Catholic Schools in this City. Among the presents given by the Bisters of the convent were a beautiful plush lounge, embroidered with raiaed arasene; a tea and coffee cosey made of velvet, and adorned with poonah painting ; some banner screens and handpidnted mirrors; tea cloths of every kind, jiehly wrought in various styles of work j a beantiful mantel drape, done in arasenu chenille, wool, and gold pearis; a pair of nice looking fans, exquisitely mounted with pale blue satin and marabout feathers; lovely cushions made of various colors, and the finest of materials, including a cushion, hand painted on pink satin, and honeycombed with pearls; exquisite ivory ornaments, hand painted; a crayon drawing ; a doll's house; hand-painted plaques; riobly inlaid tables, and numerous nick-nacks in great variety, The children of the High School presented the Mother Prioress amongst other things with a pair of footstools ; some cushions ; a nicely worked imitation of a tiger lily in gutta-percha, mounted en plaque ; watoh pockets ; doll's wardrobes; an afternoon tea set; coseys; and a great variety of other small presents. The children of St. Joseph's School presented the Mother Prioresa with a very nice papier-mache inkstand, and the children of the Kindergarten with a beautiful eight-day clock. It i 8 intended to hold a "gipsy encampment" in October next in aid of the building fund of the Dominican Convent, and the Rev. Mother proposes to hand over most of the gifts to the " gipsies," to be disposed of for the object just indicated.
