CITY COUNCIL REPORTS.

The following are the reports, in an abridged form, to be submitted at to-morrow evening's sitting of the City Connoil :

Tho Reserves Committee recommend that twenty loads of good soil, one ton of guano, and ten loads of Band be obtained for dressing the lawnß of the Botanical Gardens. That Mr Fish, M.H.R., be requested to urge upon the Government the necessity of passing a Bill during the present session suspending the operation of olaute 49 of tho Cemeteries Act, 1882, in so far as it may effect the acquirement of a cemeteiy for Dunedin and suburbs. With reference to the pioposed Bite for a cemetery, Anderson Bay, and the Oity Surveyor's report thereon, the Committee, considering it desirable to have the opinion of another engineer on the matter, requested Mr K. Hay O.E, to test the ground, and they would submit his report to the meeting. The Committee reported having received, with thanks, a donation of Beeds and plants from •tfr Kayser, Mount Blsohoff mine, Tasmania, I through Professor Ulrich. The WaterSupplj-Commltteereoommend, with reference to the plan of parts of aeotions 45, 46, and 47, block 5. Dunedin and East Talerl district, submitted by Messrs Stout, Mondy, and Sim, on behalf of the owner, Mr Wawon, for the consent of the Corporation, as owners of the adjoining land, that the plan be approved on condition that Mr Watson gives an under.
