The Customs returns for the oolony for May show a total of LU6.164- Auckland contributing L 23 096, Wellington L 24 943. Christchurch L 16,357, Dunedin L 29 644. The beer duty for the colony for last montn totalled L 4 034 17' sd, the returns of the prlnoipal being-Auckland L 978, Wellington L 452, Christchurch L 706, Dunedin L 892. For the previous mouth the total was L 4,998, and for May, 1890, L 4.400. MINING NOTES.
