THE MINISTERIAL TOUR.
ROXBURGH, May SO. The Hon. R. J. Seddon and party left Naseby early yesterday for Clyde, and thenee reached Alexandra, where there was a great meeting to welcome him and Mr M'Kenzie, and Mr Vincent Pyke. Deputations waited on the Minister asking for the resumption of land at Obelisk Creek and Bald Hill flat Mr Seddon promised to obtain a report from the mining inspector. Another deputation watted on the Minister as to the validation of water-right certificates, and asking for farther assistance ; to the cost of Cromwell bridge, so as to sav» the residents having to contribute ont of she rates. No promise was made; bat Mr Seddon said that he wonld consult his ooU leagues.
Occupation licenses are so be put in force;, and the Otago Central to be more vigorously proceeded with. It was nearly two o'clock this morning before the meeting wae over. Everyone i» phased, and nothing is promised.
