A PROHIBITION VICTORY.
The Masterton Licensing Committee election resulted in the return of four Prohibitionists and one Moderate. The poll was declared amidst great excitement. The five Prohibitionists polled 141, 127, 125, 119, and 113 ; whilst the Moderates polled 123, 117, 115, 104, and 93 respectively. It is expected that most of the hotels in Masterton will be closed.
