(Received April 11, 1888, at 12.15 p.m.) Mr Gladstone, speaking in support of Mr Parnell's judicial Reduction of Rents Bill, denounced the behaviour of the police at Ennis on Sunday last. He declared that it was as bad as at the Mitchelstown affair some time ago. COMMERCIAL. London, April 13. Tallow has advanced 6d; 110,000 casks arc in stock at present. The stock of copper is 53,000 tons. BISMARCK EVASIVE. Berlin, April 12. (Received April 14, 1888, at 10.40 a.m.) Questions have been asked in the Reichstag having reference to Prince Bismarck's alleged resignation, but the Chancellor would afford the questioners no satisfaction, replying evasively.
