4, The bowling tournament arranged by the New Zealand Bowling Association was commenced yesterday morning, and continued throughout the day. The greens were all rather heavy, but some exciting finishes were furnished. In the inter-club matches, the Invercargill team, who wero pitted against Roslyn, did not journey up. The rain that set in yesterday afternoon thoroughly soaked the green ; nevertheless a number of players put in an appearance this morning, and a few games were decided in connection with the Binglehanded tournament j J. F. Peake 11 beat G. Oapstick 10. W. Taylor 10 beat D. Mackie 17. T. Morris 20 beat A. Matheson 17. Wilson received a bye from Chalmers. B. Hale 19 beat W. Thomson 16. At this stage of the proceedings it was decided to postpone the tournament until Monday, it being left to make complete arrangements at a meeting called for this; afternoon. At the meeting held in accordance with | this arrangement at 3 p.m. it was resolved: that the whole rink tournament should be played on Monday morning at 9.30 on the, Dunedin green, with the exception of the match between Messrs Taylor and Hunter, which will be played at 11.30. The balance j of the rink tournament matches will be of two hours' instead of two and a half hours' duration, owing to the wet weather.
