(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] [Per Press Association.] VICTORIA’S WHEAT YIELD. Melbourne, March 14. (Received March 14, 1888, at 2.14 p.m.) The agricultural statistics published by the Government give the wheat yield at 13,300,000 biishels, dr ah average of 10.8 bushels per acre. The oat yield is 4,500,000 bushels, or an average of 22.7 per acre.
RAILWAY COLLISION. Brisbane, March 14,
A train on the Western line came into collision with a cab at a street crossing in the town of Ipswich. One passenger was killed ; another passenger and the wife and son of the driver were seriously injured.
AN UNSUCCESSFUL APPEAL.
Melbourne, March 14,
The Governor-in-Council has rejected the appeal on behalf of the man Grocock, who lies under sentence of death for a murderous assault on Mr Collins, railway stationmaster at Glen Huntley.
