DISEASE AMONG SHEEP. Sydney, March 13, (Received March 13, 1888, at 1.20 p.m.)

A departmental report has been made public with reference to the disease among sheep recently reported from Southern Queensland, New England district, New South Wales. The report states that the mange is contagious and very difficult to eradicate.

The' Sydney Morning Herald' states that the manufacturers have declined to take up the locomotive contract recently offered them by Government on the ground that it would be impossible to carry out the work under the conditions, and at the price proposed by Government, except at a loss to themselves.
