West Harbor.—A meeting of the West Harbor Council was held last night; present—The Mayor (Mr W. M. Hodgkins), Cr3 Barclay, C. W. George, C. K. George, Maurais, Alhery, M'Millan, Bennett, Bain, Ross, aiuUrarold.-Mr J. Mill*, M.U.R., wrote, ns to the application of the Borough Council for a penny post to Riveiisbourne, that the Department had decided practically to grant the request, to embrace bo much area as the present delivery could compass. It was resolved that the thanks of the Council should be conveyed to Mr Mills for his exertions' in the matter. -Mr Thomas Anderson asked that steps should be taken to get Chinamen removed from the front of his property at Kn.-jc.ieath. It was resolved that the work be attended to.—Consideration of an application from William Stenhouse for the olliee of ponndkeepcr and ranger was deferred until next meeting of Council.— A letter from Mr H. W. Mitchell complaining of the state of the ditches in Park Ward was received.—lt was resolved that the inspector be instructed to re-cover the box drain on the Bay View road, and to draw up a specification for the construction of a drain between the Beehive and low-water mark, and submit to the next meeting of Council. —Accounts amounting to L 4 Cs !)d were passed for payment.
