THE BAPTIST UNION.

TO THE EDITOB. Sin,—The letter of Mr North to-night makes it plain that there is a mistake between him and the writer of the report I sent you. I may say the writer was Mr 0. 0. Brown, to whom I will Bend Mr North's correction. Not being at tho Conference myself, I am unable to decide which is right. One thing I am glad of, that Mr Brown will have the opportunity of speaking through.your colnmns to his Baptist brethren—a right that Mr North refused him in the pageß of the 'Baptist.' While he was editor he allowed Mr Carter, minister of John street Church, Caversham, to attack Mr Brown. Mr Brown sent him his defence, but Mr North would not insert it. If this is even natural fair play, lam mistaken. Not to occupy more of your space, I will make Mr North or the Hon. Mr Dick (who charges us with base and gross materialism), on behalf of Mr Aldridge or Mr Brown, an offer to meet them on the public platform ; or, if they prefer it, I will defend conditional immortality with them or any other orthodox man. If they love what they consider the truth as much as wo love what they term errors, they will not neglect our offer to discuss the quostion publicly, as all men are concerned in it.—l am, etc., J. Neil. Duned'n, December 22.
