SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.
| JMr 6. Donne, who was well known in sporting circles as the owner of The Poet and Minerva, has been appointed secretary of the Island Bay Racing Club. At the Alexandra races, held on Thursday and Friday, Bagshot won the Alexandra Handicap and Flying Handicap, Hawkdun the Trot, Trimolite the Trial Stakes, Jackal the Spring Handicap, Present Time the Jubilee Trot, Lanagon the Hack Race, and jpon Josjs the Consolation.
