THE INSCRIBED STOCK.

WELLINGTON, Octobeb 1. The following information .has been supplied regarding the rise in New Zealand inscribed stock:—''When the last New Zealand loan was floated, a promise was given not .to put another loan on the market until after the present month of October. The fear of this loan being floated has kept down the price of New Zealand stock, notwithstanding that the half-yearly dividend was approaching. The arrangements made by the Colonial' Treasurer to place the money in London, and to obviate the necessity of floating a loan for some months, has already sent up the price of New Zealand stock a half per cent., and it is likely to rise within the next few weeks 2 per cent, at least additional." Jaßmiu (who has. just broken a valuable jug while dusting the parlor): "What a good job there was nothing inside!"
