THE LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held to-day, and was attended by Messrs Maitland (Chief Commissioner), Dancan, Clark, and Logan. Leave of absence was granted to Mr M’Kenzie during the session of Parliament. _ It was resolved to offer the following runs in the Upper Hawea district at the rentals stated33Ba, 25,000 acres, LSO per annum ; 338b, 14,560 acres, L 100; and 430b, 5,300 acres, Lls, The Board decided to re-offer grazing run, section 1, block 12, Swinburn, recently occupied by Mrs E. Logan, at 20s per acre, with a valuation ol L 1,536 7s 61. An application by D. Daly for a reduction of the rent of perpetual lease section 8, block 10, IVaikaia, was declined. _ A communication from the Tuapeka County Council, forwarded by the Under-Secretary, with reference to opening the remainder of the bush land adjoining tho township of Tapanui for settlement, was referred to Ranger Huglian for a report. Tho forfeiture of T. Johnstonos license or section 25, block tt, Table Hill, was rescinded, the licensee having paid his arrears, amounting to LOS 3s 6d.

A. Fraser asked that section 21, block 3, Nenthom, sections 6 to 0, block 13, Strath Taieri, and sections 5, 6, and 7, block 2, Nenthorq (3,500 acres), should bo grouped as a small grazing run, and offered at a capital valae of LI per annum.—Referred to the Government.

It was resolved to recommend C. Dalton (Lower Hawca), W. Reardon (Otara), W. Dundas (Poolburn), S. Downes (Tarras), de-ferred-payment selectors who arc in arrears with their rent, to apply to have their sections opened for perpetual leasing. The forfeiture of D. T, Fleming and A.
