Roslyn.— At the last meeting of this Council there were present the Mayor (Mr A. C. Begg), Crs Wilkinson, Lindsay, Scott, Duncan, Blanchard, Jackson, Farley, Dalziel, and Fraser. Tho Works Committee recommended that Mr Smith’s application to have Church street water carried into the City road culvert bo granted ; that the footpath in Anderston road, near Waikari School, be made up in accordance with the request of the Wakari School Committee; that portions of Helensburgh road

and a street in Broughton Township be regraded. Adopted. The Finance Committee recommended that the demands of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards be paid by monthly instalments, and that L 55 19s 5d be passed for payment. The bank overdraft was L 952. Adopted.—lt was resolved that the Taieri County Council be again written to regarding the state of the Kaikorai Valley road. That the inspector be instructed to ascertain what screenings are wanted on the footpaths in the Borough, and report to the next meeting. —The plan of the township of St. Albans, the property of Bishop Ncvill, which was submitted by Messrs R. and A. J. Park, was approved.—A general rate of Is in the £, and a gas rate of Id in the £, were struck, —After the ordinary meeting a special meeting was held to make new by-laws, when those submitted by the Works Committee were adopted with slight amendments.
