LAWN TENNIS.
The match between the Carisbrook and Canterbury Lawn Tennis Clubs came off on Cranmer Square ground on Saturday, and the Dunedirt players were completely overmatched, winning only twp games—one ladies’ single and one ladies’ double. The excellent oil-round play of Miss Temple aud Mr E. J. Ross was the principal feature on the Canterbury side. Mr Rose, of Dunedin, had to retire in the afternoon, from the effects of an old sprain, and Mr Stilling took his place. The following are the scores
